He excels at partnering with executive teams to craft compelling narratives, lead high-performing communications functions, and deliver integrated strategies that align internal alignment, external influence, stakeholder engagement, and crisis readiness. His work consistently translates complex missions into clear, authoritative voices that build trust, accelerate momentum, and deliver tangible results—whether launching groundbreaking medical innovations, scaling global EV infrastructure, or advancing statewide environmental and public policy initiatives.
Under contract with The Texas Heart Institute as Director of Strategic Communications (2024–2026), Jon advised executive leadership across medical, research, and administrative functions. He developed and executed an integrated communications and marketing strategy spanning external, internal, donor, and digital channels. He led the global launch of a groundbreaking cardiovascular device, securing more than 160 media placements in national outlets and significantly elevating the Institute’s innovation profile.
Prior to that, as Head of Corporate Communications at Blink Charging (2022–2024), Jon directed global communications across North America, LATAM, Europe, and APAC. He built and standardized a consistent brand voice while expanding media presence by 300%, positioning the company as a leader in fleet electrification and renewable energy integration. He also built cross-regional teams and partnered with sustainability leaders to shape policy narratives around EV adoption.
At Latham & Watkins LLP (2018–2022), Jon served as Senior Manager of Public Relations, elevating attorney visibility in top-tier media by more than 50% and driving national PR for sustainable/hydrogen energy, LNG, and environmental practices. His efforts strengthened client trust and retention through aligned cross-practice communications.
Earlier, as Director of Communications & Marketing for the American Red Cross Los Angeles Region (2015–2018), Jon tripled social engagement and doubled donor reach in two years while spearheading disaster preparedness campaigns that boosted fundraising and increased participation by 45%. At the California Victims Compensation Board (2009–2015), he raised statewide awareness by 40% and improved internal satisfaction by 30% through targeted policy advocacy and digital outreach.
As a Governor appointee and Director of Communications & Public Affairs at the California Environmental Protection Agency (2004–2009), Jon shaped California’s sustainability narrative on climate policy, renewable energy, and air/water quality. He served as executive speechwriter and strategic counsel while directing cross-agency outreach that bridged science, policy, and public understanding. His career began with senior PR agency roles and policy advisory positions in the Office of the Mayor (San Diego) and County of San Diego Board of Supervisors.
Jon holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from California Lutheran University (1996–2000). He has served on the boards of the American Red Cross (Central California Region), Sacramento Foster Hope, and as Past President (two terms) of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), California Capital Chapter.
